Stanford University Unstructured

CFD owes much to a history of published results in the field of computational science. As benefactors of this legacy, we believe that by offering an open-source tool we are continuing this tradition, and providing a foundation for future research.

The Stanford University Unstructured (SU²) suite is an open-source collection of software tools written in C++ for performing Partial Differential Equation (PDE) analysis and solving PDE-constrained optimization problems. The toolset is designed with computational fluid dynamics and aerodynamic shape optimization in mind, but it is extensible (and has been extended) to treat arbitrary sets of governing equations such as electrodynamics, chemically reacting flows, and many others.

SU² is under active development in the Aerospace Design Lab in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University and has been released under an open-source license.
